Harold Ray Re-Elected Ward 1 Alderman in New Haven

Harold Ray was re-elected Ward 1 Alderman in a contested race in New Haven tonight.
Out of 69 votes cast, 40 were for Ray (57.97 percent). Larry A. Hanks had 29 votes
(42.03 percent).
 
The Ward 2 Seat goes to Incumbent Melissa M. Venardos, who was an uncontested
candidate. She brought in 59 of the 61 votes (96.72 percent). Two write-in votes
were cast for this seat.
 
In the New Haven-Berger Fire Protection District election, Gerald Hoerstkamp has
been elected to a six-year term as director. He brought in 303 of 457 votes (66.30
percent). His opponent, Kent A. Strobel brought in 154 votes (33.70 percent).
