Heart Care Tips Available at Hospital Health Fair on Saturday

In an effort to promote heart health awareness, the Hermann Area District Hospital has planned a Heart Healthy Fair for Saturday, Feb. 6, at the hospital, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Walks-ins are welcome.
The free screenings and heart information are to be administered by hospital staff, and include cardiac Rehab Phase II and III (nurse available); heart healthy foods (dietician available); heart to heart support group; smoking cessation information; sleep and your heart (sleep study technician available); pulmonary function screening; and exercise tips/ body mass index (BMI) readings from Hermann Fitness Source.
Cardiologists Brian Seeck, MD and John Mohard, MD, have a “Talk to the Cardiologist” presentation planned from 9-11 a.m. Health fair participants can obtain a Lipid Profile (cholesterol test) for $10 per person or $15 for two people. A 12-hour fast is required for the test.
