The annual Friends of the Foundation Dinner benefiting the East Central College Foundation took place Friday night, February 26, at the Gala Event Center in Union Missouri.
Notable supporters of the Foundation enjoyed a gourmet dinner catered by The Finishing Touch, while music during the social hour and dinner was provided by the ECC Jazz Combo. The Honorable Judge David Hoven gave the Invocation.
Dr. Edward D Jackson, president of East Central College welcomed guests.
Shannon Grus, Executive Director of the ECC Foundation, thanked everyone for their
support and generosity to the foundation. The Sponsorship Event raised $15,000 toward the scholarship fund.  Shannon further noted that $106,000 in scholarships was awarded to ECC students last year.
The East Central College Foundation was established to support the growth and development of East Central College.  It is chartered as a non-profit 501(c)3 organization for educated purposes and solicits and receives tax deductible gifts which are managed to benefit the college, its students and facilities.
This past year the College has experienced exponential growth in enrollment, the largest in the history of the college.
Entertainment featured selected performances from the ECC's 2009, 40's Summer Musical, "The Andrews Brothers.” Performers were Jeff Satterfield as Max Andrews, Lee Garner as Lawrence Andrews, Andrew Clary as Patrick Andrews, Terrie Carolan as Peggy Jones, the Pinup Girl and directed by John Anglin with music by Paula Noley.
Extraordinary desserts, including cherries jubilee, were prepared and donated by the ECC Culinary Students under the direction of Chef Ted Hirschi.
