Happy Birday Cecilia Gertrude Jacquin!!!

Cecilia Gertrude Jacquin was born on January 15, 1920 at Gasconade Missouri, the
forth of seven daughters to Edmond and Pauline (Hug) Jacquin. She attend school in
Gasconade and St. George in Hermann. She was married to James Steiner, who migrated
to the area from Dauphin Island, AL via Pascagoula, Mississippi.  He worked on the
river.

Cecilia and James had seven sons. After “Jim” passed away in 1965, Cecilia eventually was employed by Frene Valley Nursing Home for several years. She married C.C. Weidmann in 1981, and for a time, they resided in Lamar Missouri. Cecilia returned to
Gasconade after his death in 1997, but would no longer be able to inhabit the home
it which she had reared her family. It was a causality of the Great Flood of “93.

In 1975 , Cecilia was given a special birthday gift by her son, James and wife Karen
(Landolt) in the birth of their daughter, Lori.

She again was birthday blessed in 1979 when Harold and Mary (Mundwiller) Steiner
gave her a grandson, Ben.

Cecilia, at age, 90, continues to live independently in her Gasconade home.

To honor her special day, family members will have lunch at Lyndee’s on Saturday.

A special treat for her has been a visit by her husband, James Steiner’s nephew,
Mike Lee and wife Gloria, and great-nephew, Jimmy Holden and wife Linda, who
traveled from Vancleave, Mississippi to join in the festivities. These guests
treated  her southern seaside favorites for her birthday…gumbo, fried fish and fried
oysters.
