Georgia and South Carolina Next Destination for Owensville Seniors

By Glen Blesi

The Owensville Senior Center is planning a Georgia and South Carolina trip for February 20 through 26, 2011. The previous trip to the Badlands and Black Hills of South Dakota was a success and they want to try another adventure.

The journey, which covers seven days and six nights, can be made for $499.00. Included in the package are the following: motor coach transportation, lodging for six nights, six breakfasts, four dinners and tours of Jekyll and St. Simons islands, Savannah and Beaufort.

The group departs from the Owensville City Hall, 107 West Sears Avenue, at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 20.

Other highlights of the tour are visits to the Parris Island Marine Base and Museum, Iwo Jima Monument, and the Cannonball House Antebellum Home.

The tour is sponsored by Diamond Tours, Inc. Seventy-five dollars is due at sign-up. The $499 is based on double occupancy. Those preferring single occupancy should add $150.00. The final payment is due by December 15, 2010.
