Missouri River Rescue Call Proved Groundless

By Sue Blesi

Someone driving across the Missouri River Bridge at Washington Sunday evening believed they had seen someone hung up on debris west of the bridge. The Washington Fire Department launched their boat and notified the Water Patrol. Several calls came over the scanner just before 9:00 p.m. but, apparently, there was no cause for alarm.

Washington Fire Chief Bill Halmich said, “We were able to find the person and he was just working on some fishing lines.”
