Two Berger teens were involved in a two-car crash in Warren County at the junction of Hwy. 47 and Hwy. 94 East on Saturday morning, March 20, at 6:45 a.m.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the teenagers, who were in a 2003 Toyota Echo, driven by Kaitlyn L. Garbs, 16, were southbound on Hwy. 47, when the Garbs vehicle made a left turn onto Hwy. 94, failing to yield the right-of-way and striking the second vehicle. The Toyota was totaled.

Both Garbs and a passenger, Emma N. Clark, also 16, were taken to St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Washington by Marthasville Ambulance.

The second vehicle involved was a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Martin L. Hartzell, 53, of Pacific, who was northbound on Hwy. 47 when his vehicle was struck by the Toyota. The Silverado suffered extensive damage.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Sturms Towing. Reportedly, all parties involved were wearing seatbelts.

Sgt. C. Patton of the Missouri Highway Patrol covered the accident.
