New Haven Area Farmers Receive Outstanding Farmer Award

by Sue Blesi

George and Ralph Kopmann of rural New Haven received the Outstanding Farmer Award for Area IV at the 66th Annual Meeting of the Franklin County Soil and Water District on March 18.

Their grandparents, Martin and Mary (Struckoff) Kopmann, bought the farm in the early 1900s high up on the Missouri River bluffs east of town. One of the barns on the property was built 100 years ago and still sports a cupula.

Looking back on 44 years as a doctor, it was hard for Henson to narrow down the biggest changes in medicine during his career. He noted most of the changes have been for the betterment of healthcare though one area is making it more difficult.
