Schnucks to Offer Free Prenatal Vitamins

Schnucks Markets Inc., based in St. Louis, announced it would now provide free prenatal vitamins to pregnant women at all of its 103 pharmacies starting on January 18. In order to participate, customers are required to have a valid prescription, regardless of their insurance provider. Thirteen of the most commonly prescribed vitamins would be covered by the program.

Thuy McGarrath with Hermann Pharmacy didn't feel the new program would affect their business.

Hermann Area District Hospital to Host Heart Healthy Fair

On Saturday, February 6, the Hermann Area District Hospital will host the Heart Healthy Fair from 8 a.m. until noon.

There will be multiple things going on, including Lipid Profiles ($10 or two for $15 if you bring a friend). Participation in this requires that you fast for 12 hours prior to coming in. There will also be a “Talk to the Cardiologist” presentation from 9 a.m.– 11 a.m., with Dr. Brian Seeck and Dr. John Mohart.

Hermann Fitness Source team fights arthritis in Jingle Bell Run

A team representing the Hermann Fitness Source and Hermann Area District Hospital ran and walked a 5k race in Columbia, Mo. Saturday, Dec. 5. The Jingle Bell Run benefits the Arthritis Foundation.

The team of Christina Meyer, Connie Johnson, Bernadette Turnbull, Karen Held, Rita Overkamp, Lindsay Smith, Suzie Smith, Kate Johnsmeyer and Susan Lenger raised $345 through registration frees and a jewlery sale.
