Winners by Age from the NH Youth Fair 5K Run

The top male finisher for the race was Tyler Malone with a time of 17:16. Addie Mengwasser was the top female finisher with a time of 21.47.

In the category for boys, age nine and under, Luke Gerlemann was first with a time of 30:43; Zach Groner was second with 30.56. Ethan Groner, third at 31:02.

For girls, nine and under, Claire Meyer had a time of 37.13.

For boys, 10 to 13, Tim Pruessner came in first with a time of 27.50. Jonah Chisamore was second with 30.25, and Will Soete was third at 32.09.

Gasconade Manor Rehabbers Reunite for Festive Celebration

Gasconade Manor is a community with much going on. Their reputation is attracting people throughout the area to come and use their facilities. The staff of Gasconade Manor Aquatics and Therapies is proud of their accomplishments. Each year they invite those who have gone through one of their therapy programs to come back for a celebration. Those currently undergoing therapy are invited to the party as well.

Patients First Launches Diabetes and Nutrition Center

WASHINGTON - A Diabetes and Nutrition Center has been opened at Patients First Health Care, Washington Campus. The Center is an important resource for all patients, providing education and support, weight management, and nutritional counseling.

Patients requiring diabetes education will receive an overview of the disease, individual nutritional counseling, and progress follow-up. Those requiring weight management and nutrition counseling will receive an individual nutritional assessment with meal planning and goal setting.

New Haven Pool Offers Evening Swim Classes

A little clarification may be in order in regard to the schedule for swimming lessons at the New Haven Municipal Pool. Evening classes are available again this year.

Class Session 1 will run from June 14-17 and June 21-24. The schedule is as follows: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Level 5 & 6; 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Level 3 & 4; 11 a.m. to 12 noon Level 1 & 2; and 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Getting Acquainted; and 7:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. Levels 1 through 5

The Heart Health Center Joins St. John’s Mercy Heart and Vascular

WASHINGTON - The Heart Health Center, a premier cardiovascular group with eight physicians, will join St. John’s Mercy Heart and Vascular effective June 1. The Heart Health Center’s eight cardiologists and 50-plus employees will become part of Mercy, expanding the existing St. John’s Mercy Heart and Vascular group in St. Louis County and Washington, Mo., to 25 cardiologists.

Dr. Kate Lichtenberg Joins Eureka

Kate R. Lichtenberg, DO, MPH, FAAFP, has joined St. John’s Mercy Medical Group’s (SJMMG) Eureka Family Medicine. She joined Robert Michaels, MD, at 179 Eureka Towne Center Drive in Eureka.

“I am so happy to join the Mercy family and take care of the Eureka community,” said Dr. Lichtenberg. “I came to St. John’s Mercy because of their outstanding reputation for patient quality and safety. I am fortunate and happy to have found a place working with Dr. Michaels in an area close to home for me.”

The St. Johns’ Mercy Diabetes Education Series Presents Beat the Pack

The St. John’s Mercy Diabetes Education Series presents Beat the Pack, a seminar on quitting smoking, at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at St. John’s Mercy Medical Building, 851 E. Fifth St. in Washington. The presentation will be hosted by Michael Kloss, a doctor of pharmacology and Medical Outcome Specialist for Pfizer.

The event will offer information about the addiction of smoking and the illnesses it causes as well as methods to address the addiction to help people quit, including prescription medications. Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Jefferson College Offers Many Summer Learning Opportunities for Kids

As the school year comes to a close and parents seek constructive activities for their kids, Jefferson College will host several educational camps and workshops for area youth throughout the summer.
 
Students who want to learn more about theatre, acting, stagecraft, and dramatic presentation are invited to participate in the annual Performing Arts Workshop, open to those in grades 6-12, running June 14-27 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on the Hillsboro campus. More than 50 vendors will be on hand Friday, May 14, for the free Senior Expo and Health Fair which will be held at East Central College.
