MoDOT Begins Culvert Work on Route 50 for Widening Project

Missouri Department of Transportation, and its contractor, Millstone Bangert, will extend the culvert under Route 50 near Union this week on the north and south side of the project. Most of this work will be performed without interruption to traffic flow on Route 50. Motorists can expect flaggers if lane closures are needed.

JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the week of Jan. 18-22, 2010.  Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected.

Flying out of St. Louis? Most likely, you'll be flying Southwest

SWALast month, American Airlines -- the airline that once dominated about two-thirds of all of Lambert Field in St. Louis after acquiring TWA -- announced the end of 46 flights a day from St. Louis, and elmination of non-stop service from St. Louis to 20 cities.  By next summer, only 36 American Airlines flights from St. Louis to nine other cities will remain.

Hermann area rails among those replaced by Union Pacific

Union Pacific crews worked on replacing rails at the tracks near the Hermann Riverfront last week. The repairs are part of a $5.4 million rail replacement project for Union Pacific.
