Priest on Leave

Father Thomas Seifner, who at one time worked in Pilot Grove, is on leave from his position as pastor at both Immaculate Conception Church in Loose Creek and St. Louis Church in Bonnots Mill, the Booneville Daily News is reporting.

St. Paul UCC Choir to present 'The Promise of Light'

The St. Paul United Church of Christ Choir and friends will present "The Promise of Light," a Christmas cantata by Joel Rainey. This year's performance will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 20 at the church.

This year's show will feature accompaniment from synthesizer and percussion.

Knights of Columbus to host Sunday breakfast at St. George Church

The Hermann Knights of Columbus will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Dec. 13 at St. George Catholic Church. Proceeds from the breakfast will go to a scholarship fund for Hermann High School seniors.

Cost for the breakfast is $8 per person. The Knights will be serving scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes and biscuits and gravy.

Columbia Hand Bell Ensemble will return for another holiday performance

The Columbia Hand Bell Ensemble returns for another performance this year at St. George Catholic Church. The group will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12.

The hand bell ensemble performed for seven years in Hermann, and returning audiences can expect more spectacular music. New listeners will hear a unique take on traditional holiday tunes.

A free will donation will be collected to support the Hermann Area Ministerial Alliance. The performance is supported by People’s Savings Bank and the Hermann Arts Council.

They’d recently bought the property at the old middle school in Hermann—nearly unintentionally—and now they were wavering on a $250,000 offer from a developer. They must have been crazy to turn down the offer, they thought, but they didn’t know yet that God had a different plan for the building and the couple.

Hermann Community Christian Church open book group to public

Starting at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, the Hermann Community Christian Church will hold a regular meeting to discuss a book titled Embracing Forgiveness. The meetings will be held the first and third Tuesday of each month.
