Consumers Tell BBB That Dog Bones From Washington Caused Illness, Death Of Pets

The BBB says consumers should be very cautious when giving “Real Ham Bone For Dogs” to their pets. The bones are distributed under the Dynamic Pet Products label of Frick’s Quality Meats of Washington.

A popular pet treat distributed by a meat company in Washington, Mo., and sold in stores across the United States is under attack by dog owners who blame the product for injuring or killing their animals.

The BBB says consumers should be very cautious when giving “Real Ham Bone For Dogs” to their pets.  The bones are distributed under the Dynamic Pet Products label of Frick’s Quality Meats of Washington.

Several consumers said their dogs became seriously ill or died when the animals ate pieces of the bones, causing damage or blockage to internal organs.

Ventura Foods, LLC Voluntarily Recalls Seven Varieties of Its Dean's® Dip Products As A Precautionary Measure

Ventura Foods, LLC is voluntarily recalling seven of its Dean's® Dip products, with specific production dates, because a flavor enhancer may be contaminated with salmonella.

The flavor enhancer is made by an ingredient supplier, Basic Food Flavors, Inc., in Las Vegas. This is the same ingredient linked to the Food & Drug Administration's recall announcement Thursday.

Kroger Recalls Two Onion Soup & Dip Mixes Due to Possible Health Risk

The Kroger Co. said today it is recalling Kroger Onion Soup & Dip Mix and Kroger Beefy Onion Soup & Dip Mix sold in some of its retail stores because the Company has been made aware by a supplier that an ingredient in the product may have been contaminated with Salmonella.

Stores under the following names are included in this recall: Kroger, Dillons, Fry's, King Soopers, City Market, Smith's, Food 4 Less, Jay C, Scott's, Owen's, Baker's, Gerbes, Hilander and Pay Less.

Jobs Available Through State Parks Youth Corps Program

Youth Corps members will earn $7.25 an hour and may work up to 240 hours from May 1 - Sept. 30.

Two children were abducted from 1942 East Cantrell Street in Decatur IL around 3:30 pm this afternoon. The children were last seen with two adult males in the listed vehicle. The vehicle was last seen turning onto a side road off of Cantrell Street in Decatur.

Crawford County Sheriff's Department Involved In Tuesday Morning Shootout On I-44

A 26-year-old man who was wanted by the Secret Service was shot and killed by a trooper with the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Interstate 44 in Phelps County Tuesday morning following a chase involving several local law enforcement agencies.

Board Of Aldermen Approve Electric Rate Reduction; Sewer Rates To Increase

The rate reduction was one of three ordinances passed; sewer system rates were increased through a revised city ordinance. Rates were increased to the current waste water system issues in the city.

Electric rates in the city of Hermann will be lower starting in May after the Hermann Board of Aldermen approved lower rates during Monday night's meeting. Though the rates are effective March 10, residents won't see a reduction on their utility bills until May 1, according to city clerk Delores Grannemann.
